DESCRIPTION

This is a discussion activity in Canvas LMS that is always popular with students in my Art Essentials Class. It not only allows them to practice their formal analysis skills, but integrates a crucial social aspect within a virtual course.

Art Essentials is a first-year Foundations course where we focus on strengthening the students' ability to look at, speak about and create art through scaffolded assignments that culminate in a final project – ask me about the "Picturing Place" project!

The virtual gallery is an existing asset. I have included in the examples below vocabulary sheets and two reference video slideshows I created for this class that coincide with previous lessons that were synchronous online – they originally included live explanation.
